Severe heatwave in gangetic West Bengal and Odisha; red alert issued: IMD

The Indian Metrological Department on Saturday stated that a red alert has been issued for Odisha and Gangetic West Bengal because of severe heatwave conditions in this area. Soma Sen Roy, who is a senior scientist at IMD, mentioned that there have been severe heatwave conditions in Gangetic West Bengal for several days, leading to the issuance of a red alert.
