Apple TV+’s Hilde Lysiak-inspired mystery series “Home Before Dark” has received a series premiere date — and an early Season 2 renewal, the streaming service announced during the Television Critics Association press tour Sunday.

The first three episodes of the Jon M. Chu-produced show will launch April 3 on Apple TV+, with the rest of the Season 1 episodes rolling out weekly every Friday.

Per Apple, “Home Before Dark” follows a young girl who moves from Brooklyn to the small lakeside town her father left behind. While there, her dogged pursuit of the truth leads her to unearth a cold case that everyone in town, including her own father, tried hard to bury.

The series, which is inspired by the reporting of real-life young investigative journalist Hilde Lysiak, stars Brooklynn Prince, Jim Sturgess, Adrian Hough, Jibrail Nantambu, Deric McCabe and Joelle Carter.

“Home Before Dark” is created and executive produced by showrunners Dana Fox and Dara Resnik, written and executive produced by Russel Friend and Garrett Lerner, and executive produced by Joy Gorman Wettels, Rosemary Rodriguez and Sharlene Martin. Chu directed the series and also executive produces.

The drama hails from Paramount Television Studios and Anonymous Content.

“Home Before Dark” is the seventh of Apple’s original shows to receive a second-season pickup, as four of the freshmen series that were available when Apple TV launched Nov. 1 have all already been renewed, including “Dickinson,” “See,” “For All Mankind” and “The Morning Show” (“Morning Show” had a two-season order from the start, while “For All Mankind” was renewed ahead of the streaming service’s debut). Additionally, M. Night Shyamalan’s psychological thriller “Servant” and Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon’s “Little America” anthology were both renewed before their respective series premieres.
