Madison county sheriffs told us saturday night four inmates overdosed on some sort of syntheic drug.

The sheriffs office still doesnt know what kind of drug it was or how it was smuggled through the mail system.

But - a spokesman said the way inmates smuggle drugs in is constantly changing.

He said inmates can receive mail that's been saturated with liquified forms of illegal drugs - or even store bought chemicals like bug spray!

Once the chemicals dry - they're often undetectable to law enforcement.

It's also nearly impossible for inmates to tell how much of the drug or chemical they're taking.

I spoke with one woman who was visiting someone at the jail monday afternoon.

She told me she thinks this problem is getting worse everyday.
